What happens if the actinometer solution is observed to change color slightly from clear to yellow?

Answer: If the actinometer solution has turned yellow that means that you have exposed your actinometer solution to sunlight (or monochromatic irradiation) too long such that nitration of the bezene ring has become important. In this case, the light dose calculation is not valid and you have to start over and either attenuate the light dose by using a nuetral density screen or expose your actinometer solution to solar radiation for a shorter period of time so that nitration is not important.
